FSBC Weekly E-News: August 04, 2023.

Welcome to Fundy Seaside!
We look forward to welcoming you and your guests at our beautiful location this week.

Sunday, August 06th
Our weekly worship service is on Sundays at 11:00 AM.

  • Communion Sunday
  • Pastor Rachel’s sermon this week will be “What Would You Say?”.

New Church Members

Last Sunday we welcomed two new church members into the Fundy Seaside Family:
Wayne McGrath and Gail Anthony.

We are glad that they have chosen to join us as we continue to walk with God and join Him to serve our neighbourhoods.

Previous Sermon Feature

“What are you doing here?”. 1 ki. 19: 9, 13. The Forerunner Stories.

— Same question and same answer; and twice in a roll? Yes, and No.

Quotes from the sermon:

“This concept of finding a cave … that is very common for us all: We hope to find peace…a cave in where we can find release from what has been bothering us…but it turns out not to be what we thought … so we leave and keep moving around, …hoping to find solace in our hearts by constantly moving about from one place to another … We have a saying in Cantonese, like a blind-headed fly…flying aimlessly and hitting one place after another without seeing anything.”

“The still small voice of the Lord is all it takes to transform someone’s relationship with Him. So Elijah comes out … does not hide any more …He is no longer afraid because he is in God’s presence. God lets Elijah experience His presence first hand by speaking to Elijah directly in a calm and quiet voice. Personal. Deep within. Direct.”

“And…this 2nd time …God speaks directly to E with the same question ‘What are you doing here?’ Throughout the Bible, we see that the 2nd time or the second one is what God intends to be the powerful one. The second time is the sustainable version. And Elijah’s answer the second time around is exactly the same…but he himself is different …he has a changed heart.”

In addition to the main schedule of activities, we’ll be facilitating special events alongside our partner organizations, as well as fun and engaging programs for kids and youth. At Oasis 2023, the CBAC Council is presenting Rev. Renée MacVicar as its nominee for the position of Executive Minister. Read the announcement | Watch an interview and see Q&A details
