FSBC Weekly E-News: August 11, 2023.

Welcome to Fundy Seaside!
We look forward to welcoming you and your guests at our beautiful location this week.

Sunday, August 11th
Our weekly worship service is on Sundays at 11:00 AM.

  • Pastor Rachel’s sermon this week will be “What Would You Say?”.

Previous Sermon Feature

“Where do I begin?” (1 Ki. 19:15-19, Rom. 11:2-6) The Forerunner Stories.
— It’s not about the song.

Quotes from the sermon.
“My Grandpa loved putting together puzzles. One of the hardest things about doing puzzles is the beginning … where do we begin?
…following Elijah’s story…In today’s portion, i wonder if Elijah may also feel like that. God has just told him to go and do three things. And as Elijah is walking down from Mount Horeb where God and him has had the conversation, will Elijah be asking that same question, ‘God has tasked me with three things, now …where do I begin? Who do I go to first?”’

“Sometimes we cannot be OCD’d about the order that God decides to do things – His order is sometimes not what we want it to be … or think it ought to be … When that happens to us, it doesn’t always mean that you have done something wrong, you have messed up God’s work, or think someone else is doing it wrong. Through Paul, God’s Word seems to have picked up from Elijah’s encounter with God on the mountain of God and transport us to the territory of grace…”
