Highlights from the sermon:
“From Noah’s story that he finds grace in the eyes of God, to Elijah’s and Elisha’s stories, to the 1st and 2nd comings of Jesus Christ, even when He comes back to judge the world, His intention is always first and foremost the same: God’s ultimate goal is to give His salvation to us. From Genesis to Revelation, He is the same. He wants people to receive salvation through His grace, and not His judgement that is bound to happen. It is inevitable when the holy God encounters ungodly people and sin, but salvation comes first. God’s GRACE goes before His judgement. There is always a door open …always a way out …when we decide to follow God closely. Let our heavenly Father know you are sorry for your sins. May you and me, everyone, find grace and favour in our God’s eyes. Don’t delay any longer. It is not worth being alone one more day without God, walking in God’s grace…”

2023 Oasis Highlights

Here are some highlights from Oasis, as we came together to worship God and celebrate His work—good news for our neighbourhoods.

On Friday, August 11th, 2023, delegates at Oasis voted successfully to appoint Rev. Renée MacVicar as CBAC’s Executive Minister.

  • Renée is the first woman to be appointed to the position of CBAC Executive Minister.
  • Renée’s appointment is for a five year term, effective September 5, 2023. The secret ballot vote, taking place in the afternoon business session, was 93% in favour of the motion for her appointment.
  • “I love this family.” Said Rev. Renée MacVicar in her remarks after the result of the vote was announced. “I love the leaders, I love our churches, I love our partners that we have in this beautiful family. And so thank you for your willingness to work with me and with this CBAC team and family as we stick together to figure out the best way forward.”
  • “Friends, family, we need a deeper dependence on God. Moses trusted the Great I AM, and even with his insecurities… God said ‘Go and I will give you the words to speak.'”
  • In addition to the Executive Minister appointment, delegates also voted to approve the 2024 Budget, to extend the contracts of Dr. Cheryl Ann Beals and Dr. Greg Jones, and to approve other key items.

Season Focus: Praying Around the World via 110 Cities.
Upcoming Dates: Sept. 12th and 26th.
Time: 7:00 – 8:15 PM

Join Pastor Rachel to pray for the church, the community, and the world. During this season, we will be learning about 110 Cities and the people groups that live there, their cultures, and their predominant belief systems. Together, we will discover how our God is moving in the hearts of people around the world.
