Previous Sermons

Rearranging Furniture.” The Lord’s Prayer series, part 3. 2023-11-05.
Ref: Mt. 6:10-11. Ref: Mt. 6:33; Lk. 17:21.

A refreshed view on what it means in our lives when we are praying “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.”

Quotes from the sermon:
“Rearranging furniture …or the result … can be an inconvenience… to some, or improvement… Classical musicians also rearrange musical phrases sometimes, …brings a new perspective to the whole piece …refreshing.”

“Only when Jesus comes second time … then God’s will and HIs rule really and finally will come on earth completely. So don’t be too surprised that the world may be getting worse. …Meanwhile, our job on earth is to show the love of God in a terrible world…even though the world might have more and more worse things happening, and people are not generally getting any better, quite the contrary it seems. So don;’t lose heart, even if things don’t go as we expect after prayer, don’t doubt God. “God so loved the world …Jn 3:16 …this world – people now can enter His kingdom, and His kingdom can be in their hearts, even though there are terrible things happening all over this world, even amongst bloodshed…, killings – parents killing children …children killing parents … the blind leading the blind … even the first time when Jesus came …on earth. But the absolute focus of our Father’s heart is to make unrighteous people righteous through Christ and so they can enter into His Kingdom while they are in this world.”

“…Then …“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” will mean to us – in another words…that IF we seek first … pray first, care first about God’s kingdom, His rule reaching to this earth … THEN EVERYTHING WILL BE GIVEN TO US – THIS BECOMES A STATEMENT. In the same way, if we seek and pray that His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, then, give us this day our daily bread will become a statement to us as well, rather than our prayer, having to ask God every time to provide for our daily needs. Because Jesus also says that God knows our needs already… we don;t need to repeatedly plead for them when we come to Him – because His kingdom is here already. but right now, His rule is our hearts – in people’s hearts on earth at this point. Earthly people receive the taste of God’s kingdom right here in our hearts. (Lk 17:21) For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” nkj.

“That answers our question. …Why even in times like these…earthquakes, floods, suffering, disease, attacks, wars, it is still possible for people to hear the good news and receive God’s forgiveness for their sins, and enter into the kingdom of God … have peace because His kingdom is in their hearts already. This is God’s focus, so it should be our focus as well – that God will take care of all we need when we seek His kingdom and His will being established in our hearts, and in the hearts of others here on earth. Be encouraged…when we pray for the coming of His kingdom and His will to be done, we are making a statement that HIS KINGDOM HAS COME ON EARTH, and His righteousness thorough Christ has been established in our hearts as well as in those of many others in the world, AND HE TAKES CARE OF US EVERY DAY OF OUR LIVES”

FSBC Community

Advent & Christmas with our FSBC Family.

Christmas Potluck
Sunday Dec. 10th
After the church service, at 12:30 PM.

The Three Wise Men brought gold, frankincense and myrrh to Jesus.

Let us use the beginning letters of these three items (G, F, M) as inspiration for what we will bring to share. For example, Fruit starts with F, so how about bringing a fruit salad featuring your favourite fruit? Or Mince starts with M, so how about bringing a mince pie? Alternatively, there is an option for folks who may prefer to drop off their G,F, or M dishes if they are available to join the potluck in person.

Come one, come all, with your family or friends.
