Can you solve the “food puzzle” in this poster?

The Three Wise Men brought gold, frankincense and myrrh to Jesus. G, F, M.

Let’s use the beginning letters of these three gifts (G, F, M) as inspiration for what we will bring to share. For example,

Guacamole starts with G, so you can choose to bring tortilla chips and dip.

Fruit starts with F, so how about bringing a fruit salad featuring your favourite fruit?

Or Mince and meat both start with M, so how about bringing a mince pie, or a meatloaf?

Plenty of room for your creativity and practicality in this busy season.

You are invited to Fundy Seaside Christmas Potluck: Sunday Dec. 10th. 12:30 PM.

PS: There is an option for folks who may prefer to drop off their G, F, or M dishes at the church, if they will not be available to join our potluck in person.

Previous Sermon

“What’s Your Angle?” The Lord’s Prayer series, part 4. 2023-11-12.
My first pair of glasses made me look like an owl!
A fresh look at “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” in what we commonly refer to as “The Lord’s Prayer”.
Scripture: Mt. 6:12, 14, 15. Ref: Mt. 18:21-35; Rom. 8:12-14; James 5:16; Gal. 6:1-3.

Quotes from the sermon:

“James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James, like Paul, is also talking to believers of God. … why we confess our faults one to another, brothers and sisters, that clears things up between us. What that also means is: we are also acknowledging that God is the only giver, He is the only lender, and we all owe Him…When we continue to acknowledge and focus on this important attribute of God, our prayer will continue to be effectual as we know that we are indebted to Him.”

“And when we acknowledge this attribute of God, we also acknowledge in our hearts that we are recipients …everything has been given to us…true forgiveness given to us only by God. So we know and acknowledge that compassion only comes from God Himself, that;s why we share God’s compassion to one another in the body – as we all experience God’s compassion towards us personally – in ways more than one. When we acknowledge this, we will continue to know that God will listen to our prayers and hear us … be encouraged…”

Rev. Rachel Kwan. 11:00 AM, Sunday Service, 2023-11-12. Fundy Seaside Baptist Church, NB, Canada.
