” Is that scary enough for us? From v14 all the way to v39 (all twenty-five verses of curses awaits the people… because we were all born AFTER the first humans Adam and Eve, whom God had to kick out of the Garden because they disobeyed God’s ONE command for them…How terrible … But this is the background knowledge, the foundation that we need to know what God will do to us if we fail to keep just one of His commandments.”

“However, we also know something else… thankfully…also in God’s Word, Jer. 31:31… “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people … It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors …”

“Who can even begin to keep ALL God’s commandments? … And IF we missed one, we missed them ALL! So who can keep the OLD covenant? No one. …But where did we come from? The old one. So we really need to know about this in Leviticus, so as to understand in a deeper sense the conditions of the Old covenant – and the life we would have to look forward to – had we remained under the first covenant. If we did not get a taste of how terrible it would be for us in the THEN, we would not know how to appreciate and value the grace that has been offered to us. ON the contrary, if we see the implications and the scope of our hopeless situation under the first covenant, we will see how imperative it is for us to get into another agreement, we would even be begging God to draw up a new covenant with us…”

“That’s why it is so important that we were given a new covenant through Jesus, our mediator between God and us. Now there is hope, in a new covenant. God has provided us a way out! Through this new covenant we can become both God’s people and God’s children – adopted into His holy family. That’s why it is so significant…”

News: Active in Mission Campaign

Our church participated in donating to a summer project called ACTIVE IN MISSION in the summer 2023, and we have more great news on this. Now there are funds collected from Active in Mission which will be available for sister churches of CBAC (through applying to the Active in Mission Grant) to help those with food supply needs in our neighbourhood. Season Focus: Cultures in the World
Upcoming Dates: Feb. 6, 20, 2024
Time: 7:00 – 8:15 PM

Join Pastor Rachel to pray for the church, the community, and the world. During this season, we will be learning about the Field Staff of Canadian Baptist Ministries in Europe, the work they are involved in, and the people and the cultures they are serving. Together, we will discover how God is moving in the hearts of people around the world.
