“The old covenant is about the WHAT; the new covenant is about the WHO”
A New Continuation sermon series (5). 2024-02-04.

Quotes from the sermon:
“The Who, the Why, and the WHAT are all foretold by our Saviour at His Table the night when He was about to be betrayed. Not only that, He told us then – that the New covenant would start to take effect from the time of His death and resurrection, and it will be in effect all the way until the day when He will sit and sup with us again in heaven: ‘I will not drink the fruit of the vine until the day when I will drink it new with you in the kingdom of my father.’ No wonder, it is meant for us to celebrate at the Lord’s Table regularly – to remember Him …what He has done for us to be included in this new covenant.”

” We do not need to stay any longer in the old. We can leave that and start living in the new one – that is what will save us all the way through to the end. That’s why the new covenant is so precious to us. That’s why we see in the Acts of the Apostles in the early church times, the first disciples of Jesus broke bread every day …Of course, we don’t have to follow that literally to the dot. Because back then, they were at the very beginning of the new covenant – this new era! And so of course they were super excited – because they knew they finally did not have to hopelessly try to keep up with the perfect standard of God by themselves, they were finally reconciled to God through the forgiveness of their sins under the new covenant established by Jesus’ blood, so how could they not celebrate? So, they celebrated every day literally.”

Rev. Rachel Kwan. 11:00 AM, Sunday Service, 2024-02-04. Fundy Seaside Baptist Church, NB, Canada.

News: Active in Mission Campaign

Our church participated in donating to a summer project called ACTIVE IN MISSION in the summer 2023, and we have more great news on this. Now there are funds collected from Active in Mission which will be available for sister churches of CBAC (through applying to the Active in Mission Grant) to help those with food supply needs in our neighbourhood. Details in this link. https://baptist-atlantic.ca/news/featured-news/active-in-mission-grant-application/

FSBC folks: If you have an initiative or idea in this regard and would be available to spearhead this initiative should it become a reality, please talk with Pastor Rachel or one of our church’s deacons.
